The reason I chose to switch to Animas from DHS was because the culture of DHS didn't motivate me enough to make me actually commit to completing work well and on time. I never found myself to be interested in any of the work they threw at us. At Animas, I feel like students get to choose and make their own academic path, which provokes interest in what you're learning and sometimes leads you to further your own knowledge in areas you enjoy. You also, with choice, most always take away helpful skills and knowledge that you'll be able to apply to your life in the future, which is not something you get to experience at DHS where they give you typical problems and packets with information that wont be relevant or beneficial to your future.
I also feel and have experienced the new and different atmosphere that everyone here works hard to maintain. At Animas everyone is more accepting and supportive which also helps you in being a genuinely happy person, which makes it easy to find motivation for the hard stuff such as school work. So far I've definitely seen a change for the better in myself. I believe that switching was the right choice for me.
